Tasked with the scenic design and painting of each room in the Clue mansion, I decided to attribute each of the game’s rooms to a character, or pawn. I aimed to create a cohesive dollhouse look that blended the realistic interior design of an old-money mansion with the colorful theatrics of gameplay. I painted and stenciled the walls in muted tones of each character’s costume color. The brown molding, door, and piano colors frame the rest in the Detective’s signature color.

I leaned into detail, painting themed portraits of each character and selecting furniture and interior lighting to reflect them.
