Tasked with the scenic design and painting of each room in the Clue mansion, I decided to attribute each of the game’s rooms to a character, or pawn. I aimed to create a cohesive dollhouse look that blended the realistic interior design of an old-money mansion with the colorful theatrics of gameplay. I painted and stenciled the walls in muted tones of each character’s costume color. The brown molding, door, and piano colors frame the rest in the Detective’s signature color.

I leaned into detail in this design, including painting themed portraits of each cast member that I hung on the walls of each room. I also created a furniture and interior lighting selection that would be reminiscent of each character’s personality.
