Set design for Quadramics Theater Company, 2023

Chicago

This set was designed to blend the industrial boom of the 1920s with the theatricality of vaudeville. The shiny red curtains and rounded archways resemble a puppet theater, contrasting strict parallel lines in the metallic bar handrails. The show’s run began 1 month after the end of Murder, Glee Wrote, a parody musical inspired by Chicago. I designed pieces like the cell bar handrails that could be recycled for use in both shows, altered by a variety of embellishments like the the rounded curtains and integrated marquee lights.
